Economic Education on a Global Scale!
|
“World Partnerships Live” addresses an urgent economic education gap, globalizes a curriculum in economic education and financial literacy, and furthers US public diplomacy and foreign policy through educational outreach and training, and cross-cultural dialogue.
After their hands-on experience with these exciting curricula for economic education, IVLP alumni universally express the need in their countries for a new multi-disciplinary, innovative economic education & training model for youth. “World Partnerships Live” is our response to the expressed need of these New Generation global leaders. Utilizing the theme of US passports and visas in collaboration with the Passport Services division of the US Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs, the project is designed to incorporate multi-cultural experiences, geography, business and international commerce into the required economic education curriculum for Pinellas County students and their counterparts around the world. |
“World Partnerships Live!” is the premier globalization project of World Partnerships, in partnership with the Pinellas Education Foundation/Stavros Institute. “World Partnerships Live!” is the first international initiative to occupy a storefront in the Stavros Institute’s “Enterprise Village.
This is the Phase 1 beginning of an educational journey that will spread around the world through our IVLP alumni, who in turn will be part of the Tampa Bay community’s educational experience. The second phase will teach the Enterprise Village students about the world through video, photographs, maps and games, all provided by our IVLP alumni and partners. Installation of video equipment, monitors and computers that support the second phase will lay the groundwork for the third phase: Live cross-cultural encounters with students around the world, and Q&A with our alumni about their work, their countries and cultures.
