"Hidden No More"
Empowering Women Leaders in STEM
Armenia, Dominican Republic, Kyrgyz Republic, Mexico, Philippines, Tunisia & Zambia
Inspired by screenings of the award-winning film Hidden Figures at more than 120 U.S. Embassies and Consulates worldwide, this special initiative program began in 2017 to highlight and develop the important contributions of women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). “Hidden No More” brings to the United States 50 women from around the world who have excelled in STEM careers such as spacecraft engineering, data solutions and data privacy, and STEM-related education. World Partnerships first hosted this distinguished program in 2019.
This project examines women’s contributions to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through research and development, education and teaching, leadership, and public policy formation. Participants explored best practices in the effective recruitment, training, and development of women and other underrepresented groups in STEM and learn how they can institutionalize opportunities for women in their own countries. This project supports the Department’s strategic goal of enhancing economic growth through the contributions of women. The project focuses on the advances of women’s employment in STEM fields and addresses how they are mentoring the next generation.
